On Wednesday, the S&P BSE Sensex achieved a new milestone (Sensex hits fresh all-time high ), reaching an all-time high of 63,588 during intra-day trading. This surge was primarily driven by the impressive performance of major players in the index, such as Reliance, TCS, and HDFC twins, coinciding with the forthcoming congressional testimony of Jerome Powell, the Chair of the US Federal Reserve.
Sensex hits fresh all-time high
With a 0.41 percent increase, the Sensex soared 260 points to establish a record-breaking peak. Previously, on December 1, 2022, it had touched 63,583 points, which now stands surpassed.
Similarly, the NSE Nifty experienced an upswing on Wednesday, peaking at 18,875.90 points, just shy of its previous all-time high of 18,887.60 points attained on December 1, 2022. On that same day, the Sensex had touched 63,284.19 points.
The Indian equity markets have been witnessing a rally since March 28, resulting in both benchmark indices posting gains of nearly 10 percent. During this period, foreign investors have made purchases worth approximately $8.28 billion in equities.
