In a recently released Netflix documentary titled “Beckham,” the former Spice Girl shared her perspective on this tumultuous time, as reported by the BBC. She stated, “It was an incredibly difficult period for us because it felt like the whole world was against us.”
She further admitted, “Here’s the truth – we were pitted against each other, if I’m completely honest.”
According to the BBC report, Victoria recalled that before their time in Madrid, they typically felt like a united front facing the world. However, during this challenging period, it was a different story.
“It was a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, the press were constantly present, following us everywhere we went,” she recounted, describing it as “a complete circus.”
When asked if she had harbored resentment toward her husband at that time, she candidly confessed, “If I’m being entirely truthful, yes, I did. It was probably the unhappiest I’ve ever been in my entire life.”
