London Train Strikes 2023 – Everything you need to know about the London train strikes in May and June

विदेश

London commuters are bracing for imminent travel disruptions this week as a fresh wave of rail strikes (London Train Strikes) is set to commence. The drivers’ union ASLEF and the RMT transport workers’ union will spearhead these walkouts after rejecting a proposed pay deal, with their members voting in favor of continuing the industrial action.

Both unions are opposed to the government’s plans for railway “modernization,” which include proposals to eliminate ticket offices. Consequently, commuters can expect significant disturbances to their journeys.

Fans attending Beyoncé’s concerts in Tottenham and those heading to the Epsom Races are strongly advised to check their travel plans beforehand or explore alternative routes.

When will the London Train strikes occur?

Over the course of four days, three rail strikes are scheduled. Aslef train drivers will go on strike on Wednesday, May 31, and Saturday, June 3, which coincides with the FA Cup final and the Epsom Derby. Furthermore, an overtime ban for ASLEF members will be in effect on June 1.
