New Zealand’s Edmund Hillary and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay etched their names in history as the first individuals to conquer the summit of Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain. On the morning of May 29, 1953, they reached the summit and spent approximately 15 minutes at the pinnacle before commencing their descent.
